The First Strike: Battle in the Stars (Plot thread

[Squall]

In the depths of space. A massive fleet from both sides were coming, everyone was preparing for one massive battle. The ones from Zodiac were with the Zodiac fleet, and the same for the ones with Nexus. The ones with no side were in a space station in the middle of the battlefield. It was more of a small city, rather than a glorified fleet. They were unlucky enough to get caught in the crossfire of both sides.

A massive space fleet made its way through space, in the middle stood a gigantic ship bigger than the others called the "Zodiark", on the bridge stood the leader of the Zodiacs named Kai. He stood in front of the main window staring into space, right where a few lights signifying the Nexus fleet getting closer.

"All hands on deck! Charge the lasers to maximum out put! Launch the mechs!" Kai yelled as he turned around and rose his right hand as a sign of giving orders. "All Zodiac allies and soldiers, get ready!" He followed.

Meanwhile, Jr. was in his giant ship "Durandal", aside from the Zodiark, the Durandal was amazingly strong, and able to take out any ship, this was the last line of defense for anyone that wanted to get close to the Zodiark. "Mary! Shelley! Take care of things here! I'll go out in my Mech." Jr. said to his 2nd in commands as he went to the elevator down to the hangar, and went on his trust Mech "Asher". "Alright! Lets rumble!" He yelled as his Mech launched into space.

In the space colony, Squall was looking out the window right into space as both sides were going to engage in a massive battle. "How can they!? There are civilians here!" He said to himself, thinking he should do something about. There was no way he could stop such a massive thing from happening.

Opposite of the Zodiac fleet came a smaller yet a bit more powerful army. A giant ship was also in the middle, surrounded by mechs and smaller but still large space ships. The large ship in the middle was known only as 'Void' and a massive cannon could be seen at the front of the ship. However, the one piloting such a ship wasn't the Nexus leader. It was one of Zeal's trusted generals and admiral of the fleet.

Floating in front of 'Void' was a Mobile Suit Mech known as the 'Death Scythe'. It's name was not just a name however, in it's hands were a huge pole with the laser blade shaped like a crescent. It was a huge machine, it had black and red painting and two sharp wings that gave it a terrifying look. The boosters were located on its back as well as its feet. Missiles and projectile weapons were all over its body, and on its left arm was a blade. The pilot of this ship was none other than Nexus Leader, Zeal. The young man was an ace pilot with a lot of reputation to his name. Inside the cockpit of the mech, Zeal is seen sitting in front of three monitors that showed his front side, left side, and right side. He wore a black and red suit as well as a helmet for breathing. On top of the monitor was a picture of Zeal and Yuna when they first met. Zeal smiled when he looked at it and turned back to the monitor.



"Admiral. This is Nexus Leader speaking. Fire the cannons towards the Zodiac fleet immediately. Catch them off surprise, we shall make the first strike!" Zeal said onto the main ship. The admiral nodded when he heard his orders and yelled to everyone on the deck, "Input energies into the main cannon and fire!" Of course, everyone did as they were told. Soon a large laser beam fired and it fired it's way towards the Zodiac Fleet. 'Death Scythe' stood above the beam, the pilot inside smiling. "Alright! Thank you admiral! Now start our attack! It doesn't matter if the attack just now was successful or not." The admiral relayed his orders to everyone else, then all ships fired their cannons at the fleet and hundreds to thousands of mechs charged forward. Zeal was the only one not to charge, he had to wait and see before he does anything.

Sitting on a bench with his arms and legs crossed was a crimson man with blonde hair and red eyes. Two swords in one sheathe was strapped to his back, and wore a large, dark red trenchcoat that covered most of his body. His blonde hair covered his right eye as he looked outside the window into space. This man was named Kyuzo, a wanted and fierce warrior who is a rare master of the twin sword style.

He stood up and walked next to Squall, the people on board the station looking out the windows to see what was going on. Kyuzo stood there with his arms crossed, noticing that one of the sides fired first. When he heard Squall's complaint, Kyuzo turned to the scar-faced man and said, "There's nothing we can do but hope we can make it out of here alive." He said calmly, caring whether or not if any body on the station died. "This battle will be long....this station has no hope for survival in the aftermath."

A dark portal appeared on the top of the highest vuilding in the small colony city. Out walked a tall, thin man, his arms thrown lazily at is side as he took several steps forward, the portal immediatly disappearing behind his back. The man had flaming-red hair, spiked up in sections with what looked like gel, unless it was naturally formed that way. An black cloak adorned his shoulders, the Organization XIII cloak, which only gave out bad news when it was spotted. Axel surveyed the small city, his hands now spreading out wide. A smirk appeared on his face.

"Take control of the so-called 'colony', huh.. Shouldn't be too hard.." Suddenly, two red-and-white chakrams were in his hands, roughly two times the size of his head. He brandished them in the air, igniting them on fire. Clearly, he seemed to be an expert at such an element. Then, a fire ignited on the very outskirt of the city, right next to the glass which seperated it from space. The fire grew and grew, then spread.

No, it did not spread into the city, but rather around the perimeter of the place. What it really was, was a giant fire wall that kept anyone from getting in or out of it. Axel stood back after it was done, undoubtedly proud of himself. "Man, wish they would give me something better to do than this..." His voice trailed off, watching the flames dance around the city.

Axel, formerly known as "The Flurry of the Dancing Flames." The big betrayer of the bunch of assholes that had once run Organization XIII. Right now, he preferred to have been dead rather than doing all this crap. He hated handeling orders, which led him to be one of the ignorant kind and caused the downfall of Marluxia's plan to take over. He couldn't help but smile at that. He would'nt be stuck doing this kind of stuff if it weren't for Nexus, who seemed to have brought him back for the sheer sake of controlling his powers. If it was his choice, he wouldn't be doing this at all. But he had an odd feeling that something bad would happen if he didnt follow them correctly. So, for now, he relaxed and tried to do the worst he could on his so-called missions.

Cid was in space again. he had been trained to do a mech. It wasn't all that big but it was fast with a great array of laser guided missles. it could fly in tight manuvers yet it had a below-normal armor. I have no idea how i got in this war but i sure as hell won't quit now! Since Cid's mech was so small he wasn't really targeted as a big threat. So Cid decided to fly towards the Nexus ship below all the fire from their mechs.

he almost got by when a humongus mech came down weilding a scythe almost the size of itself. S*** this. How the hell are we supposed to destroy the f****** thing?! Cid hoped the leader had something cause Cid's tiny mech sure as hell couldn't kill this thing. Cid was used to the sky not space! It's a good thing his orders were to attack the ship with the least amount of attention as possible. He thought of his wife and then surged lower below the fire.

Cid went towards the ship as a mech came down to stop him. S***!!! so much for subtlety. Cid flew it down under the mech and shot a few missles upward. The mech moved out the way but one missle hit him. it didn't seem to faze him much. the mech charged at Cid with a large laser sword. S***!!!!!!! why do these f****** things happen to me! Cid quickly moved around it and kept firing at the imposing mech. The mech's armor looked half gone but it still was going strong. The mech's pilot was obviously mad that such a small mech was defeating him. it's sword was lengthened by about half it's size and it pointed it at Cid.

So that's how you want to play, eh? well suck on this! Cid's mech unleashed a barrage of missles on the mech. The arm with the sword broke of and the mech's lights dimmed a great deal. Cid then came to the mech and kicked it. the lights came completely off as the head broke off. Cid didn't have time to think of the other pilot so he flew towards the ship once more.

Amongst the fleet, one could make out a smaller ship next to the flagship, the Zodiark. This ship was bristling with weapons, and had a sleek build, making it easy to maneuver. Although smaller then the Zodiark, this ship was still quite large, capable of holding a few dozen soldiers and some fighters. The operators on the bridge were working like crazy to send out reports and coordinates. I fact, the whole ship was abuz with activity. Only one man stood calmly amongst the chaos.

This man stood calmly on the main part of the bridge, looking outside at the ensuing chaos. He wore a white trench coat with gold lined cuffs, long black pants, and a black shirt. Tucked away in his coat pockets were guns, two hand guns and an Uzi. His hair was short and blue, and he had grey, handsome eyes. His face showed no expression. This was Alan West, high ranking, top brass officer of Zodiac. If there was someone who excelled in dangerous situations, it was Alan, who never lost his cool. This was his ship, The Revolver, and he was going to use it to the best of his ability to defend this station. Calmly, he put on a comlink headset and spoke into the mic.


"Central HQ, this is Alan West of the Revolver. I want you to round up the remaining ground forces on the station and evacute the citizens. Civilian lives are a priority; we cannot risk endamgering them. If you can, have SeeD help you."

Alan recieved the confirmation of his orders and opened a channel to the flagship Zodiarc.

"Commander Kai, this is Alan West of the Revolver. I have ordered an immediate evacuation of all the civilians aboard the colony. I am now ready to do battle with the enemy. Do you copy? Over."

While waiting for a reply from his leader, Alan barked orders at the operators.

"Focus all shields for a frontal assualt! They will most likely barrage us with laser cannons. I don't want to be caught off guard!"

During this whole series of events, Alan's expression never changed....

[Kail Lancaster]

Kail,Serena,and Sephiroth were on the space station as well and saw Squall "Yeah I know how you feel Squall I wish I could stop this thing" Kail said as he looked out the window.

Sephiroth looks out in wonder "I was heading out to Terra to get a mech but they called those things Gears or something like it" he said and wished he had his own but things happend on the way there.

Serena was like Sephiroth as this was taken out of a manga or something like it "Yeah guys what are the odds that this place has some hidden mechs in a sceret lab or something" she said even though it was childish it did bring up a point if these to forces took it to far.

OOC-To tell my characters apart Kail is in purple,Sephiroth Xion is in white and Serena is in pink.

[Squall]

"Power to the shields!" Kai said as he commanded his fleet to put up their shields just in time to absorb some of the attack. He sort of winced after being hit, just enough to take a few steps back. He then ran to the elevator as he held his sword to his side.

"Captain, Where are you going?!" The assistants and crew asked him. Kai just looked at them as he got down to the hangar and got his Mech out. Through the radio, his voice could be heard.

"Everyone! This is going to be a great battle! I'll go out in my Mech and confront their leader. I trust you'll know what you're doing. Durandal! Provide main support!" He said as his mech shot out from the Flag ship Zodiark.

Another transmition came in. Kai raised an eyebrow and picked it up, it was Alan west, someone who had just joined Zodiac. He explained that evacuating civilians were the main priority, he was right. "Copy. You have full order to evacuate the station! Over." He said.

His mech "Zero" flew out, and stood in front of the fleet as he charged straight for the enemy, more specifically, the Nexus leader.



Meanwhile, Jr. and the Durandal were given the order to provide full support. "You heard the boss Shelley! Fire the main cannons!" Jr. Yelled through a radio as he fought the Nexus forces. The Durandal fired hundreds of lasers to the enemy, probably too fast to dodge. Jr. had his hands full, as he was flying through space, dodging the fire of enemy Mechs. He fired back destroying a few. "I have no time for wusses like you!!!" He yelled again.

In the station, Squall had no idea what was going on. The alarm went off and they were all given the order to evacuate. He knew he had to do something, so he helped out with the evacuation. "Everyone! Use the escape pods!" Squall said as he directed the people to the escape pods and prayed they were able to get away in time. He saw a funny sight, a man in a black coat was creating a Fire wall that was trapping the innocents inside the colony. Squall ran up to this Red-Haired man and yelled "Hey! Just what do you think you're doing?!" as he drew his gunblade, preparing for a fight.

"Admiral! Order everyone to turn up their shields and absorb the blasts from those lasers!" Zeal said into the little com-link in his helmet. "Yes sir!" Answered the admiral on board the 'Void' who then commanded to do what the Nexus Leader told them to do. Soon enough the shields were up and absorbed the energy from all the laser fire at them. "Alright! Now advance forward! No use of just shooting each other back and forth!" Once again, all ships were moving forward. They were still several miles apart, but they were big ships going hundreds of miles per hour. Meanwhile, all the Nexus Mechs charged forth. Six mechs stayed behind though, they found a smaller mech that managed to get under the ships. Such a mole wouldn't be left alive, so they fired their weapons at them.

Meanwhile, as the 'Durandal' and other Zodiac ships fired hundreds of lasers at Nexus. Zeal's 'Death Scythe' was charging forward, avoiding the blasts like an experience pilot. As he got closer and closer, Zeal found their hundreds of mechs charging towards them. Inside the cockpit of his mech, Zeal grinned mischievously like usual. Suddenly, dozens of missiles came out of his body and started destroying the dozens coming at him. "Hmm...you're no match. Even in numbers..." Zeal mentioned and passed through the huge cloud of smoke and robot debris.

One mech caught his interest, the one that just came out of the 'Zodiark'. "Kai!" Zeal yelled as he charged towards the Zodiac leader, both of his mech's arms holding onto the scythe weapon. When he was in range of a swipe slash, Zeal slashed at Kai aiming for the cockpit of the mech. Meanwhile, the Zodiac fleet edged close to the Zodiac fleet. Then soon enough, the Nexus fleet all fired their lasers at their counterpart all in different times.

Kyuzo noticed the flames around the inside of the station, he turned around to with his arms crossed and his face passive to see that it was the red haired man in the black suit. He was about to fight him, but he saw that the man with the scar has it covered. For now he would watch the fight.

However, peace was only temporary. Suddenly mechs of both Zodiac and Nexus appeared within the city, apparently entering through the transport hull of the station where ships entered and exited. The Nexus mechs were here to secure the space station as their own, and so they opened fire at the Zodiacs. Meanwhile, one Nexus mech appeared in front of Kyuzo, near the group of Serena, Kail, and Sephiroth.

"For the sake of Nexus! Please help us sec-" However, the poor mech couldn't finished. During his talking, Kyuzo had leaped onto the large gun it held with both his swords drawn. He started running up the thing while cutting it up. Then the finishing blow he cut through the middle and it exploded. As the smoke rose, Kyuzo could be seen sheathing his blade and smiling slyly with the hunger for battle.

Cid found himself having to fight six mechs. But these mechs were and older model so Cid found a weakness after a small bit of studying. At the chest area there was a bright glowing light that seemed to be a power source for the armor. Cid unloaded a ton of missles towrd them. they all hit one mech unfortunately. But the other mechs were slightly injured by the shrapnel and the explosion. So after about 30 minutes of constant firing cid had 50 missles left and one mech left. So Cid shot thirty to him and ten on either side of it . it had no where to go so it died.

Cid looked up at the ship and landed on a dock. no mechs left? this is easier than I thought. i just infiltrated there base! Cid radioed up top officer alan.
"Officer! i just infiltrated the base. What next?" the obvious answer would be to go to each room and kill a bunch of people but he also wanted to tell them all what happened.

Alan soon had a flood of messages in his com link. It seemed that the space station was being attacked by Nexus mobile suits. Not exactly ideal for an evacuation procedure. He decided he was going to take matters into his own hands. He turned to his pilot, and experienced youth named Taylor.

"Taylor. I want you to take command for now. I'm taking the Crossfire into the space station. Someone has to hold off the Nexus mechs long enough for the citizens to get the hell out of there. I want you to charge ahead into the fray; aim for the larger ships that are pouring out mechs. Aim for their rear; they most likely have their frontal shields up to protect against a barrage. I want all shields stabilized, and equally distributed through the ship."

Alan then talked into his headset. It was Cid, an experienced pilot. Good news, for a change.

"Well done, Cid. I want you to sabatoge their energy supply. Think you can do that?"

After getting the thumbs up from Taylor, Alan made his way to the dock, where his own personal mech, the Crossfire, was sitting, always outfitted for combat. It was loaded with weaponry; missile pods, a machine gun, head turrets, a laser rifle, a laser saber at it's side, and fully maneuverable thrusters. He quickly climbed into the ship, launching himself into space. He witnessed the fight between Kai and the Nexus Commander. At least it kept both of them occupied. The other experienced pilots teamed up with Zodiac would take care of the Nexus fleet.

Alan managed to make it through an airlock chamber used for Mechs, and stepped into the city. Several sections had been destroyed already, and Zodiac was taking a beating. In fact, he soon came upon two Zodiac Mech pilots taking cover from five enemy mechs, who kept them pinned down with gunfire. Alan cooly aimed his rifle at them. He shot them each through the cockpit, incinerating the pilots and destroying the suits. He barked more orders into his headset as he did so.

"Push them back! We need to make space for the civilians!"

Axel looked down at Squall from up on the roof of the building, his eyes narrowing in interest. His chakrams were still held loosely at his sides. He crouched down, resting his arms on his knees as he waved down at him. "Sorry, bub. Orders are orders..."

Man, he hated that line. Who would've thought, Axel, of all people would say it. He frowned when he noticed this, scrunching his nose up in a scowl. Then he hopped down from off the building, landing gracefully on the ground. At that moment, the Nexus mechs had enetered the colony and was beginning to secure it. If they had millions of mechs out there, why the hell did they need him.

He had come down, meaning to have a brawl with this man, but there seemed to have no point to it now. He tapped his chakrams on his shoulders, looking back at Squall. Of course, the man could always have it the hard way and start fighting the mechs. It seemed someone else was already taking their job to do so. Axel looked over as a mech exploded nearby. He seemed unphased by the blast, maybe even happy to see it.

Should Squall try to make a move, Axel had already put up a wall of flame around him to stop him from going anywhere. He already seemed bored with what was happening already. "Man, I hate this job..." And after noticing that some of the escape pods were still accessible Axel strengthened his firewall so that it made it almost impossible for citizens to leave the station.

[Squall]

As Kai watched the expert handling from Zeal's mech, he did the same. He dashed forward dodging easily the fire from the opposite force. He used his gigantic blade to tear apart any mechs that tried to get in his way. Suddenly he clashed with the Scythe of Zeal's mech 'Death Scythe'. Kai merely smiles and says "Hehe...you play your role quite well..." As he flipped over and came down slashing at the mech. As he was clashing with him, Kai opened up a radio channel and communicated with the rest of his Army, and the Colony. "Fire the second wave! Dont leave them time to recover! Alen, make sure you put out that fire. Squall, if you can lend us your help, please take out the source of that fire! I can tell someone's behind that."

Jr. Hearing the orders to fire the second wave, ordered the Durandal to fire the main cannon right through the forces. Jr kept fighting mechs as he pushed forward, trying to see if he can infiltrate the enemy's mother ship. After all, he had done this countless times before.

Squall, hearing the orders of Kai, stood in front of Axel. He held his gunblade to his side as he began glowing. He had summoned his Aura mode that greatly increased his power and speed. He charged at Axel, giving him no chance to preform an action but to block his attack. "If you're going to hurt these people, you're gonna have to go through me!" He yelled.

Axel blinked and jumped up into the air and avoided the strike, flames ifniting near his heels so that it would allow him to stay up in the air. He shook his head at Squall, rubbing the back of his neck as he sighed. "You know, I really hoped you wouldn't do this the hard way..." He shifted in the air so that he was above Squall's jumping distance.

With a flick of a wrist, a dome of fire appeared around the two, literally, an arena so they would not be bothered. After this, he hovered down to the ground next to the wall of fire. Squall should be careful not to get close to it, should he be burned.

Axel makes no intention of attacking. He'd only respond to his attacks definsively, or change to offensive if Squall proved to much of a hassle. He tapped his chakrams on his shoulder, sighing again. "And whoever said I wanted to harm anyone? I'm supposed to secure the area, that's all." Axel pointed to his head, narrowing his eyes. "If I wanted to, they'd be dead already. I may not have a heart but I still have at least some conscience." He points at Squall, wagging a finger as if indicating a 'no-no.'

[Kail Lancaster]

"This Momo I'm heading out the Space Station to help evacuate the people on there" she said as she luanched the Zebulun out to the space station as she did Momo doged,weaved,and bobed through the enemy Mechs and head to the space station.

<Meanwhile>

Kail,Serena,and Sephiroth are helping the people to get into the escape pods but a wall of fire prevents them from geting into the pods. Instead they ran over to where Squall and the others where as they where holding there own against a blackrobed enemy.

"Hey Flameboy take this" yelled Sephiroth as he pulled out a shotgun that was loaded with a liquid nitrogen slug and fired at Axel as he was doing support fire.

Kail saw one of these Mechs closing in on him. So he turned around and did his Mars Hellfire Magnum at the Mech. A huge firebeam was fired from Kail as he held one of his hands like a gun. The Mech Exploded into bits after Kail's fire beam attack.

Serena on the other hand got seperated from the others and ran into a group of Nexus Mechs that where about capture her until pink agile Mech came into the picture and blasted several of the mechs away. As the Mech got closer the cockpit opend up and a young girls voice rang out.

"Hey are you alright" asked Momo as she poked her head out of her Mech and looked at Serena.

"Yes I am but I got seperated from my brother and a few friends" said Serena as she looked up to Momo from where she was standing. But a another group of Nexus Mechs were closing in on them.

Momo see's this "Get in it will be safer then being out in the open" she said. As Momo gets back into her Mech.Serena quickly gets into the Zebulun and gets into the copilot seat "I'm sorry my name is Serena" she said.

Momo looks back to Serena "My name is Momo so uh lets talk later alright" she said as she closes the cockpit up and got ready for battle again.

Zeal smiled as he pushed Kai away and rushed towards the front of the 'Zodiark's front. He sliced through ships and mechs until he was staring right into the window of the ship. "Sorry Kai! But we can't lose this battle." Zeal swung his scythe and the laser cut through the front window of the 'Zodiark'. The pilots on board were killed instantly and soon the 'Zodiark' just stopped moving and all life support on board the ship was getting destroyed fast. Only dozens of the hundreds managed to escape with the pods. "Sorry Kai. It has to be done." He turned back to Kai and swung his slash at him when he got close.

Meanwhile on the 'Void', several giant mechs appeared on the docks. They were new, custom designed by the Nexus leader himself. It was nearly impenetrable with its tough skin of steel. All of them were holding large chain guns and they were at least double the size of Cid's mech. It was either instant destruction or living by running. Well the ten mechs that were didn't give Cid time to answer. With Cid running low on missiles, it would be pretty hard to defeat them. Finally all ten of them fired their chainsaw guns at Cid, the laser bullets passing through real quickly. It was Cid's decision. Run or die?

More ships between Zodiac and Nexus fell. Only a few large ones were left. 'Void' fired hundreds of missiles towards Alan's ship, then as soon as they hit, the 'Void' fired its main cannon and several of its laser cannons towards Alan's ship at 90% power. Even the strongest shield couldn't hope to defend such a force. But it left the Void a wide opening. It's shield had been drained for energy to attack with the cannons at 90% power and it was now nearly defenseless. Only able to block lesser projectiles and lasers.

Another batch of mechs entered through the airlocks of the station. Unfortunately for Alan and some of the Zodiac's mechs, half of them entered where Alan came through. They were the same design as the ones facing Cid right now, but with much heavier weaponry. They had more armor protection and they had missiles all over their buddies unlike the space counterpart. Without any warning, the seven of them fired into Alan's units with their laser chainsaw guns, exploding one of the due to the rapid firing of lasers.

Kyuzo looked at the fight between Axel and Squall, he dared not interfere. He sliced through another mech and then he noticed one of the Zodiacs fired a bullet at him. With skill and ease, he cut it in half. But one half would land near Kail, Serena, and Sephiroth and explode. There was not much they could do to stop it. The other half exploded near Kyuzo and he fell backwards. It burned his leg, but he could manage. Kyuzo had far worse wounds than this.

Both Kail and Sephiroth nod to each other and use a high level barrier skill they both had to protect them. The Mech exploded both Kail and Seph where alright but they could not use any of there special skills for several hours

The Zebulun move over to where Kail and Seph were "Brother,Seph are you guys alright" asked Serena from the Zebulun's speakers.

"Yeah we are alright but I do not think we could fight any more like this" said Sephiroth as he looked like hell as did Kail.

Momo pulled something out of her pockits they looked like a PS2 controlers that where cut in half she then opens the cock pit and throws both Kail and Sephiroth the two controler looking devices.

Both Kail and Spehiroth catch them "Lisen press the square button and then type in AGWS summon" said Momo as she got back into the Mech.

Kail and Seph type in the comand and two AGWS were summoned. Kail got Momo's VX 4000 model it was a light and agile style AGWS. At was armed with a handgun and a sword and a shoulder mounted weapons that could jam up an enemys control systems.

But Seph got the VX 7000 that Jr use a some time ago. It was armed with and Ether Beam Saber that was attached to the left arm,a sub machine gun and a missle launcher on the right arm and shoulder.

They both got in and as soon as they got in Momo's face came on screen "Alright lisen guys we got to stop those Mechs from doing any more damage so stay close alright those things can not take hits well but you can move really fast" she said.

Both Kail and Seph follow Momo closely as they attack a group of enemy mechs that where closing in on them.

"So, they think that numbers matter when fighting me?"

Alan opened up the missle pods on his shoulder and fired, aiming for the mechs. However, his target with these high accuracy missles was not the body; it was the head. About three missiles hit their targets, effectively blinding the pilots inside. Alan then slung the rifle over his back, drawing his saber, and rushed into them, stabbing a forth in the cockpit seat. He exploded into frag quite easily; even heavy aromor is no good against pin point stabbing techniques.

"I'll take you all on. It's just another part of my job."

[Squall]

Kai winced in a bit of pain as he was pushed back right into the Zodiark's front. He looked as his flag ship was severely damaged. The only thing they could do now was evacuate. This however, didnt mean Zodiac had lost. Oh no, it was just the beginning. Kai then glared at Zeal "...If that's how you're playing...". Just then, his mech Zero charged up his blade to the point of glowing. Kai's eyes were also glowing in a light-blue glow. "Take this!" Zero swung his blade horizontally that created an Arc that made its way to Void. Void's front was completely shattered, and almost split in half. Whoever was in that ship must get out fast before it explodes.

Jr. in the other hand was handling his own against Nexus' own custom mechs. Jr.'s Mech Asher was also custom made, and had a very powerful power source that out-classed the Vessels of Anima. Asher materialized a giant beam cannon and held it over its shoulder. "Shot buster!" Jr. yelled as a large beam fired right into Nexus' remaining forces, either destroying them or severely damaging them.

Meanwhile, Squall had his hands full with Axel, he had made a ring of fire, thus creating an arena for their battle. "Oh really? If you dont want to harm anyone, you'd let them go. Its a BATTLEFIELD in here. And we're in the middle of it. I'll say this again, get out of our way." He said in a very serious tone as he held his gunblade on his front, charging a water spell that he shot out towards Axel.

[Kail Lancaster]

As Momo's group attacks the Mech group Kail was thinking on how to stop the fires that were breaking out he then thought of something and opens a com link with Momo "Hey Momo do you think you can hack the environmental control systems so we can put out these fires"Kail said as he attacked the larger Mech he aimed at the cockpit hatch with the handgun but with the heavy armor on that thing it would only weaken the armor around that area. After he shot in that area Kail used the boosters on the AWGS and stabed with the sword right into the cockpit and killing the pilot.

Seph did the same but it was much easier for him since he had a beam saber and killed the pilot like Kail did.

Momo nods her haed at what Kail asked "Hey Serena get me a line to the Durandal" Momo asked as she doged a Beam Saber strike and countered with her close ranged weapon. It took Serena a few seconds but got a line to the Durandal. "Mary see if you can hack in to and get the environmental control and get the fire surpretion controls" she asked and doged another beam saber strike.

Meanwhile, the Revolver was weaving and bobbing through the enemy fleet, firing off it laser cannons, tearing through the fleet like a knife through cheese. Whenever they were assaulted with missiles, they countered with their own, and were fast enough to dodge the lasers shot at them. As per ordered, the assualted the rear end of the ships they targeted; it proved effective, since the ships had almost all of their shields focused towards the front. This is way Taylor had been hired by Alan; he was a reckless youth and a damn good pilot, an excellent mix. He spoke into the intercom, trying to contact Kai.


"Commander Kai, do you read? This is Taylor, pilot of the Revolver. I'm gonna be truthful here; I don't know exactly how long we can hold this station. I say we inflict as much damage to their fleet as we can before pulling out!"

[Reno]

A star fighter flew into the crowded ships missing them by mere inches as Reno fiddled with the controls. 'Jeez that was a close call!' thought Reno as he frantically pushed in buttons on the control panel. Making the fighter regain balance. He stared at the vast space and the enemy ships and mechs. 'This might not end well!' he thought. He could hear from his end what was going on through the communication system.

He hadn't spoken into his microphone but he wasn't intent on leaving just yet. Reno sighted another fighter and followed it in hot pursuit. It was an enemy fighter and he was intent on showing what they were all made of. Reno waited until the indicators on his screen next to the controls blinked red, signaling to open fire. Reno smirked and open fired on the enemy fighter. The lasers hit the enemy fighter's tail end.

Reno watched as the enemy fighter was sent spinning out of control and hit another of its fellows both going down. "YEAH!" he shouted.

Axel merely hovered out of the way, the water spell shooting through the wall of fire and creating a temporary hole in the wall. It didn't last long though, since it merely was just covered up by fire again. He hovered around the circle again before landing on the far side of the arena on the ground.

He frowned, he hated having to deal with things like this. Then he sighs and walks backwards and straight through the fire, disappearing for a bit before sticking his head through the fire again to look at Squall. "You might want to take that jacket off..." He says verbally before disappearing through the flames again.

A little bit outside the circle, Axel raised his chakrams in the air and started to spin them very fast. The flames jumped upward making the temperature jump up in response. It would begin to become unbearably hot for Squall.

Cid looked out the hanger and ten mechs were rushing towards him. i guess i am a big target. I had better run inside before they start shooting the hanger. But just then Kai's mech's sword swung down and sliced most of the ship in half. Cid saw a mech in the hanger that hadn't moved for a while and hadn't seen a pilot get in there or out. So Cid got in the enemy mech and there was a dead pilot with a couple stars and stripes on his uniform in there. Cid flung him out and got in.

the mechs seemed enraged at the dead body being flung. They thought Cid just killed the pilot. this mech was a lot stronger material than his last mech. This mech was actually better than the other mechs. that guy must have been a lieutenant or something. the mech had a large sword as well as long-range projectiles. It would do for the moment since the ship was about to be blown up.

Cid flew down to face the ten mechs. they had stronger armor than the ones he faced before. it would be a long battle. He should test the strength of the sword on the first mech to see how strong it is. the first mech came charging with his smaller sword. Cid dodged it and swung down. it came clean through with minimal difficulty. now the battle won't be so f****** hard. D*** this mech battle. At least I'm in space again... Two more mechs came after the first rather hesitant but still rushing . one pulled out a laser cannon but Cid cut through that and then the two mechs by cutting in a circle. Cid now came rushing at them. 7 f****** mechs left. Cid cut one and started shooting a group of them. the group of mechs slid under before Cid could swing at them. part of Cid's mech got cut but not much. D*** I hate this s***** battle.

Cid slashed at the rest in a mad rush at the mechs top speed and power. The sword grew twice as long and had a resonating aura around it. Cid cut three in one strike and injured the rest from the explosion. The mechs were hesitant to come at Cid because they hadn't seen the lieutenant use this amount of power before. Cid came at them with the sword spinning in a circle in front of him to quite simply shred them to dust. he got one and the two other dodged to the right. perfect... In one maneuver he ducked and spun upwards at an angle so one had it's knees and head cut of while one got effectively sliced in half. but the close explosion injured Cid some as well but not really bad. Just a lower amount of power.

Cid flew towards the Zodiark fighting random clueless soldier mechs on the way. Cid was in a enemy mech so they all thought he was on their side. Nothing could be further from the truth. Cid once had to prove that he was on the zodiac side so he sliced the nearest Mech he could find and came in the zodiac without hesitation. he really didn't want to fight more but he knew he had to. he radioed Alan again but his assistant, Taylor, answered.

"This is Cid. I'm in the Zodiark with a enemy lieutenant's mech. I'll fix some damages then fight some more. Is that O.K.?" Cid started fixing the lower half while he waited for an answer.

Taylor looked at his headset in bewilderment. What the hell was Cid doing on the line? Well, it didn't matter. Right now, the Zodiacs needed all the firepower that could be mustered.

"Roger that, Cid. Alan or Kai will give the order to withdraw. Until then, give 'em hell and try not to get blown to smithereens, okay?"

"Roger. I'm fixed up now. Out." Cid left the Zodiark. He didn't care about how they felt about going back on the ship. he worked like hell under evilish odds and he wasn't made out for war. he'll just go and slash some more people. Onward!

Cid flew looking for enemy mechs to kill. He increased the power of his mech by tinkering with it like he used to do with planes he owned. He increased the power by 20%! The war still looked rather two sided. he should try to change that. He saw a group and acted like he was on there side. But when they got to a friendly mech, Cid turned on them and slashed them all. The mech he saved look bewildered but he went along with it. Cid would radio the friendly mechs now before turning on the enemy mechs. this plan worked perfectly without flaw. He destroyed about 14 groups of mechs this way until there was witnesses to this and word spread that Cid wasn't on their side. Now he would have to do it the hard way.

Cid saw a fiery battle over at the space colony that was caught in our battle. It also looked like Kai was in the middle and some people were helping. i hope he's ok.

The Nexus Mechs weren't randomly killing everything right from left. They had a specified mission, didn't the Zodiac realized this why the Nexus Fleet were so close. While the mechs were fighting Zodiac below important ships, they had implemented bombs. So far they had bombs underneath the Durandal and the Revolver. Of course the bombs weren't enough to completely destroy the ship but it would the two massive damage.

However, before Nexus Mechs were able to get to other ships, more Zodiac Mechs poured out of ships and attacking them even more. There was no time to plant bombs. The Zodiark was doomed with the control room destroyed, the repairs Cid did would only increase the chances of more survivors on the ships. More Nexus mechs appeared in front of Cid's, spotting the man and fired dozens of missiles and projectiles Cid's way.

Soon, the bombs the mechs planted exploded. The Durandal and the Revolver sadly were those ships that had bombs. All the ships on the Nexus sides that were still able fired thousands of their missiles and lasers at every single ship that was intact. Destroying some of the Zodiac's ships. Meanwhile, Zeal managed to sliced through Kai's mech who was too busy taking down his flagship, "Is it worth your life to take down my ship?" He asked him through the intercom.

Kyuzo continued slicing down Zodiac and Nexus left and right. Not caring who they were, he just knew he wanted to fight. Several more mechs appeared through the hatchet behind Alan as they threw several frags at the man. Even he wouldn't be able to escape that without any damage.

The bombs hit the Revovler rather hard. One could see where circuits were shwoing, the wires useless. One side of the ship's thrusters would not work. All hell was breaking loose inside, the operators trying to contact various parts of the ship's crew and asses damage. Luckily, their shields were still functional, but only at half capacity. The main operator turned to Taylor and explained what had happened.


"It's really bad, sir. I suggest we pull back immediately before-"

What he saw shocked him. Taylor was smiling a toothy grin, like an excited five year old on Christmas Morning. Despite all that was happening, Taylor was having fun!

"Ha! And I was just thinking that this was too easy! I think it's time to get serious! This little handicap might make things more interesting!"

Taylor skillfully maneuvered the craft, using the lack of thrusters to pivot, weave, and roll erratically. No mechs could get near it without threatening to be smashed into scrap, and Taylor was somehow figuring out a pattern to these strange motions. It made it harder to fire the cannons, but their targets were rather large; they didn't aim for mechs. Taylor, meanwhile, was having the time of his life.

"YEEEHAAWW!!! Let's show what it means to mess with the Revolver and her crew!"

Alan's facial expression did not change. He simply reacted quickly. Rushing towards one of the blinded mechs, he quickly sliced off it's arms, putting away his beam saber as he did so. Using the enemy Mech as a shield by grabbing it with one arm, Alan pulled out his machine gun with the other, firing in bursts at the camera in the enemy mech's head. They could not hit what they could not see. Meanwhile, the other surviving mech pilot had managed to dispose of the other mechs assualting Alan at the cost of his mech's function. He was now on the ground, helping the civilians into escape pods. However, despite all this, even Alan could not hold on his own; he needed back-up.

"Calling all nearby mechs. Commanding Officer Alan West, requesting back up at point Three, Seven, Zero, Block C in the Housing District. I am overrun with enemy mechs and little cover."

[Squall]

Kai watched as his fleet was being taken down. He hated to admit it, but they had received an incredible amount of damage from Nexus forces. The next thing Kai new, Zero's arm was sliced off, the one holding his sword. It was a mistake of simple distraction, he winced in pain as he was blown back.

Zeal asked him if it was worth his life destroying his flag ship. Kai didnt answer, his eyes began glowing in a purple-like color. The detached robot arm was hovering behind Zeal's mech. That same arm glew in the same color as Kai's eyes. Out of nowhere, Death Scythe was impaled through the mid-section by the detached arm that belonged to Kai's mech. "Heh....overconfidence will be your downfall...'partner'" He said.

After hearing Alen's transmission, Kai knew what must be done. "Roger...All remaining troops! Unload on the Nexus fleet with all you got! Supporting units, keep handling repairs!" Every single ship began firing hundreds of missiles and lasers at the Nexus fleet, assuring massive damage.

Jr, was still fighting down the mechs from Nexus' fleet. He heard a set of bombs blowing up near the Durandal. " Dammit! Mary! Shelley! Are you guys okay? Momo! Tend to them!" He said, nervous of what might have happened. While he said his, Jr.'s gear was hit in the back by a missile. "Ugh!" Jr yelled as he truned around and resumed fighting.

Squall, was still fighting Axel. Well, no much fighting as much as enduring the extreme conditions. Fortunately, Squall was a highly trained mercenary that was able to adapt in any condition. It WAS HOT, so Squall took off his jacket, only leaving that white shirt on underneath. "...No more hiding games..." He said to himself as he held his gunblade to his side. He jumped high up and slashed horizontally, creating a round wave of energy that expanded throughout the entire field, hoping to hit Axel, or at least, injure him.

[Kail Lancaster]

Momo got Jr message "Lisen you two" as Momo was refering to Kail and Seph "The Durandal needs my help so could guys come with me and help them" she asked.

"Alright we will give you a hand then Momo" said Kail as he fired off another round at a Mech.

As Speh was about to reply a hole opens up and he falls into it "Lisen you guys go on a head I'll catch up with you guys later" he said.

"Ok please come back Seph" Serena asked as Momo and Kail took off for the Durandal.

As Sephiroth gets up he finds him self in a hanger of some sorts and finds a Mech "Well what do we have here" he said and gets out of the AGWS and returns it to the UMN. He walks up to the catwalk and gets into the Mech. As he starts the thing up the Mech is called Omega Universitas.

Sephiroth launches out of the hidden hanger and heads into battle.
