Axel, who was outside the ring of fire, had not been expecting the wave of energy Squall had sent out with his gunblade. The wave pushed back the fire somewhat, and pushed Axel off balance, but the shield of fire had retained most of the damage off of him. He merely smiled. "Quite a trick..."
Axel hovered in the air again above the circle of fire, chakrams clenched tightly in his hands as he brandished them in the air. Suddenly, Squall would notice that the ring of fire was getting smaller and smaller, and the oxygen in the tiny space would begin to lessen. The air would now be over 100 degrees, and he would have to find a way out of it should he be burned alive.

"GAH!" Zeal yelled, but he didn't waver nonetheless. He charged his boosters towards Kai and stabbed him in the mid-section as well with the blade on his left hand, seeing they were close and he took off as soon as he was hit, it would be hard to avoid. "Nexus will not lose to Zodiac!" He told Kai through the intercom.
Meanwhile, the Nexus fleet fired all their lasers and missiles as well which caused massive destruction on the Zodiac fleet which means every enemy ship, but due to the lack of defense against their attack, they were severely damaged too. At the space station, more and more and more Nexus mechs fought through the entrances of it.

Taylor viewed the massive destruction that was ensuing around him. Although he was destroying a good number of Nexus ships, they were still severely outnumbered. He had no choice. He barked into the intercom. While Alan wasn't around, it was clear who was in charge.
"All ships, pull back! We must avoid an all out slaughter! We've done all we can!"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alan's force had managed to pull to the center of the city. They totaled around ten mechs, including Alan's Winchester Mech. these were elite polites, who had seen many battles and had been in many annihilated squads. They had just barely managed to evacuate everyone. Now, it was time for the last stand. Explosive charges were set in the center of the space station. If set off, it would either destroy the entire station, or create a hole in which the mechs. It was a risky gamble, but Alan and these grizzled vets were happy with either situation; they did not fear death. However, they only had two bomb specialists; this would take time. Alan and nine of the pilots got ready to make a stand.....

There was one figure standing in the station watching the Chaos from outside, right outside of the Ring of Fire where Squall and Axel were fighting. He was about 4 feet 9, wearing a black cloak, blond hair and blue eyes. He gave a slight smirk as he rose his finger up.
Everything began flashing in red as a computer voice inside the space center began yelling "Self-Destruct System activated. This facility will self-destruct in 10 minutes. Please Evacuate." Everyone needed to get out of there if they wanted to live.

Axel looked up when the computer voice resounded throughout the colony, frowning as he looked up. "Self-destruct system? What kind of space colony has a self-destruct system?" He rolled his shoulders in response to his own question, and turns to the ring of fire. He raises his chakrams again and the fire disapates, leaving Squall in the middle.
"Lucky break, kid. That is if you can get out of here alive.." A portal appears behind Axel and he turns around to leave, disappearing within the depths of the blackness. The portal remans there for about 5 more minutes, giving anyone an opportunity to go through it if they wanted to get away. Whether this was Axel's doing or not, you wouldn't know.

Alan is stunned to hear the words, as are his pilots. Someone had acitivated the self destruction device?! This actually worked in their favor. The bombs had been set, and they were ready to roll. Alan also had a hacker on his team. He quickly barked orders, and the man, easily broke the security code of the mainframe computer. While he couldn't stop the sequence, he could lock all the airlock doors. No enemy mech was getting out of here alive. Once this was done, they set off the bombs. They were lucky; the bombs created the desired effect, making a hole small enough for a single mech. One by one, the jumped through this hole. The last to jump was Alan. Before his jump, he launched a series of missles at the nearby buildings. the debris fall towards him as he jumped, clogging the whole while he barely escaped with his life. If anyone wanted out, they had to take the emergency escape pods; and there were only a handful left.
